Easter Greetings!

Dear Friends,

All the grace and joy of our risen Lord to each of you!

On behalf of the Fellows of Culture of Life Foundation, I would like to share with you our Easter greetings and in doing so introduce to you our newest member of the team, Dr. Frank J. Moncher.

Dear Readers,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the newest member of the team of Fellows at CLF, and to wish you a very blessed Easter.  I am a licensed psychologist, now 20 years in the field, and hope to provide interesting and thought-provoking pieces from the social sciences.  After having been trained in a traditional psychological science environment, my career path shifted as I became increasingly frustrated by the lack of consistency I saw in the professional literature, particularly as related to issues of life and faith.  Therefore I took an increased interest in contemplating an approach to psychology consistent with a serious faith life.  Providentially, I have had the opportunity to work with  different communities of similarly interested practitioners who taught me a great deal.  I hope my efforts to share what I have learned through the years are enriching for you.  Happy Easter to you and your families!

A lot can happen in six weeks.  When Lent began, Pope Benedict had just made his historic announcement.  Now the Church has Pope Francis, a man who reconciles in his person the false dichotomy between social justice and pro-life Catholicism.

On the home front, the U.S. Supreme Court has started oral arguments on whether to redefine marriage; and North Dakota signed into law the strictest abortion ban in 40 years setting the stage for a federal challenge of “the boundaries of Roe v. Wade.”

In the Denver foothills where I live, the warmth of spring is threatening to drive out the chill of winter.  But winter is presently winning.  Culturally we might say the same.

For those who are experiencing the winter chill, especially in their families, I wish the peace of our Risen Lord and a foretaste of his kingdom joy.
